A Literature Review is...

  • typically completed after the need for a project has been articulated.
  • structured to explore appropriate solutions from research in the field with input from practitioners engaged in the same or related activities.
  • intended to strengthen the feasibility for successful project implementation.

The Purpose of a Literature Review is to...

  • highlight the work of others in the field.
  • provide potential contacts throught the documentation of related projects and their effectiveness.
  • establish the research base with which to support project viability and alert the applicant to conceptual and programmatic issues which should be addressed.
